Jodi vs. Martha: Black Forest Cookies

It’s Jodi vs. Martha time again!
It’s been awhile since I last attempted one of Martha Stewart’s admittedly excellent recipes, but Martha caught me in her net yet again with her “Martha Stewart Cookie of the Day” email about Black Forest Cookies.
Three kinds of chocolate? Butter? CHERRIES? I’m in.

Jodi vs. Martha: Blueberry Mini Tarts

Other than the addition of some pumpkins and hay bales, the produce purveyors here in Florida don’t look much differently than they did two months ago in the heat of summer. I’m looking forward to that first whiff of autumn – the one you get unexpectedly one morning that smells vaguely of burning leaves and candy corn slow-roasted on a sidewalk after a smashing evening with a pair of sneakers.
That comes sometime in November here.

Jodi vs. Martha – Chocolate Ricotta Icebox Cake

I chose to pick on Martha Stewart for a reason. Sure, you can make fun of her for doing time in the clink and knitting her own Volvo warmer. You can giggle about her barely contained bitchitude or even her penchant for remembering the “little people” by backing over them with her car.

Jodi vs. Martha: Mac & Cheese Smackdown

I first heard of this recipe through SeriousEats.com. This recipe has almost hall of fame status amongst foodies, though. SmittenKitchen, copykat, Bitten and just about every food blog on earth not morally opposed to the consumption of cheese (?!?) has prepared and photographed this recipe. It has many names. Martha’s original name for it in her Martha Stewart Living Cookbook: The Original Classics was “Macaroni & Cheese 101” but cooks and bloggers since then have dubbed it “$40 Mac & Cheese” for the expense of the ingredients.
