Quick Tip: Tolerable Jarred Spaghetti Sauce

Even the most enthusiastic foodies don’t always have the time to make their own spaghetti sauce from scratch. Making big batches and freezing it is an option, but even then you could run out of frozen sauce and find yourself needing cheap and quick options.
Choose a good jarred sauce (I recommend Prego’s Organic Sauces), then brown a pound of hamburger (coarse “chili” ground beef is best) and half of a large onion. Be sure your meat and onion are very well drained. Return them to your pot or pan, then add your …

Three Unique Chocolate Bars

After hearing Nigella Lawson sing the praises of the Bacon Chocolate Bar, I just had to try one for myself. The Man and I searched high and low here in Jacksonville – first to World Market, then Whole Foods then local candy shops, but we had no luck. I tried ordering it on the internet, but the lowest price I could find was $9 (plus shipping)! Even worse, most companies are unwilling to ship chocolate to southern states in the warmer months. Eating Our Way Through the Riverside Arts Market

On Saturday April 11th, the six of us crossed the river to check out
the overnight sensation called the Riverside Arts Market.
This collection of dozens of booths greatly resembles the Riverside Arts
Festival held in Riverside Park each year.
We didn’t have any trouble parking thanks to the new crop of office buildings
lining the river these days.
The kids piled out of the car and we walked less than a block to the
shadow of the Fuller Warren Bridge.
