Ah yes, my dear vintage recipe card fans, this could quite possibly be the Holy Grail of cards. Behold the majesty of tomato aspic juxtaposed against a classical background of Florentine marbled paper. The only thing this photo truly lacks is a sterling silver aspic platter. Which, would you believe I have 2 of in my cupboards?

Ah yes, stir-frying or “chow” cooking, as it is referred to in this handy recipe card, was all the rage in the 70′s. So exotic, so foreign, and such a damn fine reason to use that universal tasty seasoning, MSG. This particular card came with a bold faced “helpful hint” at the bottom, for those who were new to this exotic cooking style.

Soufflé. Such a delicate and sensitive dish, as we learned from Alice’s failed attempts to make one for the Brady clan. Now, I’m all for a good chocolate soufflé, but carrot?

A truly entertaining vintage meal, complete with dancing poultry, pineapple spears, and questionable spherical objects that could be grapes, olives, or marbles.
