Help For Haiti

written by jodikasten 20 January 2010 No Comment

We here at EatJax join the rest of the country in concern for our neighbors in Haiti. Locally, please be certain to use caution when donating money to charities. Heartless people with handmade signs and a generous helping of greed have been seen at local intersections and grocery stores taking up collections for the cause. These people are reported to be pocketing that money rather than passing it along.

If you’d like to donate, the American Red Cross, Action Against Hunger and Yele are all excellent and respected charities currently providing food, shelter and medical care to the victims of the horrible earthquake.

If you know of a local food related Haitian relief effort, please click on “Contact Us” above and let us know about it! We’ll post it prominently here on EatJax.com.

Our prayers are with the victims and families of the Haitian earthquake.
