Ragland’s Closes – Makes Way for Deco Bistro
Ragland’s restaurant on Park Street has closed, but there is a sign in the window promising that “Deco Bistro” will be opening soon. It will have stiff competition from the many other restaurants that have popped up in the Five Points area in the past few years. There have been sightings of some of the old staff members going in and out of the building. This may be general errands or it may be that the same staff will be manning the restaurant.

It is unknown if Ragland’s 38 inspection violations back in February may have had a hand in closing the restaurant, but they achieved a respectable four violations in May. While the days of Club Five and Fuel may be long gone, the Five Points area on Park Street is still a hub of activity and a prime location.

I’m curious to see how they do it this time around. Hopefully they’ll take the lead of some of the better eateries in riverside. Anyone have any idea what this Jackson’s (New sign on the old Brown Bros. BBQ) on King St. is all about?
Well, there WAS a listing on AOL jobs for “Jackson’s Bar, Bistro & Sushi.” Of course, they just spit out whatever is most searched, so I’m not sure. I’ll keep a watch on it and review if it comes up soon.
