44° North – Mountain Huckleberry Flavored Vodka
On a recent venture to one of Jax Beaches latest bars, Rush St., I saw that they had a very specific vodka behind the counter, 44° North in the Mountain Huckleberry flavor. After a few cocktails (usually sticking to my guns with Wild Turkey and Coke), I decided it was time to try this out and see what all of the fuss is about. To my surprise, it made an excellent mix with Red Bull and instantly became my new go-to clear liquor drink. I can honestly say that I’ve never really thought that huckleberry would make an excellent mix, but I urge you all to try it out. According to their website, the drink is distilled from Idaho potatoes, blended with Rocky Mountain water from the Snake River Aquifer, and then stepped in mountain picked Huckleberries for 10 days. It’s the first and only vodka approved to wear the Idaho Commission’s official seal. The next time you’re out looking for a new mix, you should definitely try this out.
