Recent Shutdown of the Mossfire Grill

I do a lot of reporting here on EatJax about restaurant inspections. I’ve actually become rather difficult to surprise, but on September 16th, one of the most popular and highly rated restaurants in Jacksonville was shut down due to inspection violations. I’ve reported here about violations numbering well into the 30s, 40s and even 50s, but with 22 violations – 9 critical, the Mossfire Grill in Riverside was closed down as a hazard.

Hall of Shame: Sushi Edition (10/2/09)

Sushi is one of my favorite meals and it’s growing in popularity everyday here in Jacksonville. Sushi is considered a “more dangerous food” by some people because it usually involves some sort of raw fish. Some folks refuse to eat sushi at all, but most people will agree to tag along for cooked options then venture a taste of the good stuff.
